You Are Not Your Thoughts

“The day you decide that you are more interested in being aware of your thoughts than you are in the thoughts themselves, that is the day you will find your way out.”
—Michael Singer

That endless stream of thoughts - good, bad, neutral…we all have it.
It’s our brain doing what it does.
When we identify so closely with them, we end up getting dragged along on every whim and in every direction. The result? We lose ourselves. We lose track of reality.

Simply being aware of your thoughts and listening differently is the first step in setting yourself free. That little space between thought and action gets bigger and suddenly you can see that you are not a prisoner of your mind. You are the consciousness behind them.
