5 things yoga taught me
When I first started practicing yoga, it was about carving 60 minutes out of my day to workout. Oh, and the poses! You too? For years, that’s all it was…until it became more. MUCH more.
Somewhere along the way, the four corners of my mat became a playground for life. I became aware of my patterns. (In recovery from rushing/being chronically late.) I started noticing the same thoughts would pop up in certain poses. (Not you again, Eagle.) I saw my fears, my monkey mind, my beliefs all reflected back at me.
Things yoga has taught me… (this list is forever ongoing):
My experience is 100% on me.
No one has it all figured out— I can just do my best today.
Lighten up. Seriously.
It’s never just about the workout.
Comfort zones are where growth goes to die.
The perfect pose won’t change my life.
I’m bigger than my preferences.
What has popped up on your mat? What has this practice taught you?
