Punctuality Practice

We live in a world where being late or rushing from thing to thing is the new norm.

Here at the studio, we make a conscious effort to start and end class on time. And yes, that means we close and open doors exactly on time as well. This is not about rigidity or a lack of understanding. We understand life happens: traffic, unexpected delays, work issues. But what if we often find ourselves in this predicament? What are some considerations to help us change how we are showing up?

It shows respect. When we are punctual, it supports the respect of a resource we all deeply value: time. It prevents us from stealing that from ourselves or others and treating it in a way that honors.

It shows discipline. Discipline isn’t always a fiery display. More times than not, it’s the practice of showing up with controlled consistency, not energetic clutter. When we show up in this way, we build trust with ourselves and refine our way of being.

It shows awareness in action. Punctuality is a product of careful planning, noticing and following through with intention. When we rush or arrive late, we shift our entire experience to one that feels chaotic and unfocused.

A simple place to start? Give yourself a buffer. Aim to arrive 5-10 minutes early as a gift to yourself. Notice how that time promotes calm energy and space to transition.
