The Yoga and Writing workshop will give participants opportunities to experience a field of awareness that is bigger than personality, preferences, habits and memories alone. Whether you are a regular practitioner or newer, Yoga is a direct relationship with that Awareness. And, writing that moves people - writing in your journal, writing letters you never mail, a blog, articles, stories, songs, poems, or scripts - is sourced by that Awareness.
Together, we will connect the dots:
Embodied Experience… Mental Awareness… Honest Communication.
FOR ANYONE WHO MOVES AND WRITES
You do not need to have a regular Yoga practice (although you might) or consider yourself “a Writer” (but, you may) to enjoy and get benefit from this workshop. The emphasis of the workshop is having an experience and expression, not refining a technique. If you’re willing to move, curious or excited about writing, and open to discovering something new, you are qualified. If you have an area in your life where a fresh perspective would make a difference, sign up immediately!
FORMAT
Wear yoga clothes - we will begin with a 40 minute flow practice and then move back and forth between embodied exercises and writing. There will be opportunities to read (on a volunteer basis) and dialogue with one another. While there is an outline for the afternoon, the energy and interests of the group will determine how the workshop takes shape.
