CORE AND STRENGTH YOGA WORKSHOP WITH RACHEL SMETANA

March 10th. 1-3pm.  $35 pre register. $40 day of.

The core is your symbolic center of power.  It is where your center of gravity originates and where you find strength for your posture, yoga poses, balance, support for your back and all of your everyday movement.  Creating a strong and stable core is the single most important aspect of a fit and balanced body.

Rachel will lead a strong flow that incorporates specific poses designed to strengthen the core. The class is balanced with poses that will lengthen the core muscles as well as creating long and lean abs that will help stabilize and establish power in all movement.  This workshop will give you a direct experience on how to work deep strength from the inside out!

This class will be both challenging and exciting!  As a result, you will feel the work you’ve done on your abs the next day.

A discussion of the function and application of the  tranverse abdominus, rectus abdominus, and the internal and external obliuques will be included in this workshop.

This workshop is appropriate for both beginners and more experienced students.

Cost of Workshop: $35 pre-register and $40 Day of.

Please join Rachel Smetana and Portland Power Yoga for this Core/Flow workshop with a KICK!

Discussion on the transverse abdominis, rectus abdominus, internal and external obliques. Their function and how to work them.

After teaching them how to “fire” their core, I’d like to have them incorporate this when doing High plank to low plank (utilizing core strength to help when asking the upper body to be strong) then also with lower body poses, crescent lunge, firing your core, and then arm balances and how you MUST fire your core in order to perform them…. Even shoulder stands.

DATE: TBD!
